For the families who already know this season is worth more than a photograph
Nothing evokes the wholeness of life
the way film does
Truly feel this moment in your family's story today and for years to come. These aren't posed portraits or stiff home videos — they're cinematic films that capture how it actually felt to be your family, right now, in this exact season of your lives.
Your children's laughter, the quiet tenderness between you, the beautiful chaos of an ordinary day. All of it, preserved.
For new and expectant parents especially, there is no season more worth preserving than this one. The sounds that will fade before you realize they're gone: those tiny coos, the specific weight of a sleeping newborn on your chest, the way your family learned to be a family together in those early weeks. A photograph is beautiful. A film brings it all back.
I would recommend that anyone with that same longing to capture a moment in time, especially parents, to go for the film option (which also generously includes a limited number of photos). When I watch it, I feel like I’m back in that moment.
Carmen has given us a priceless gift with her skill and artistry and I have no doubt that this video will forever be some of the best money I’ve ever spent. It is tangible comfort for all the emotions of this time in our lives. Actual medicine for my soul and now one of my most treasured possessions, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Carmen is more than a photographer, she is a healer and a storyteller. I couldn’t speak more highly of her as a creator or a person.
Alison - day in the life film session
Your ordinary is more extraordinary than you think. This 3-5 minute cinematic film documents your real, everyday rhythms — the morning chaos, the quiet moments, the way your family exists together right now. Families tell me it's one of the best investments they've ever made. I believe them.
Some seasons only happen once. This 2-3 minute cinematic film is perfect for welcoming a new baby, marking a first year, celebrating a graduation, or capturing any chapter of life (big or small ) that you never want to forget. Short enough to watch on repeat. Real enough to feel like you're right back there.
Payment plans are available upon request.

A true collaboration of hearts: yours and mine. Over the course of your baby's first year, we'll document this season together — three sessions woven together with the everyday footage you capture on your own phone. The morning light through your kitchen window. The first time they figured out crawling. The ordinary that turned out to be anything but. At the end of the year, I'll take everything we've gathered and craft it into a single cinematic film that tells the whole story — not just the highlights, but the full, beautiful truth of this year.

It's as though she interpreted what was in my heart before I knew it myself. She captured our imperfect selves perfectly, and we watched with tears of love, gratitude, warm hugs, and smiles.
Our time with Carmen was a wholesome and healing journey. From our initial conversation, to the moment we watched our film, she set us all at ease, and delivered beyond expectations. Working with her was therapeutic, cathartic, and it felt more like collaboration because she takes the time to listen to our hearts, and that, its self, is a complete work of art. We can’t think her enough, and we are already looking forward to our next “therapy" session.
Marion - a soulful mother and daughter portrait session
I've got you every step of the way
The heart is the center of my work, and the best way to find out what makes yours skip a beat is by having a conversation. I'll answer all of your questions and go over the details. Once you're ready to move forward, a non-refundable fee of $500 and some paperwork secure your session. We will then complete the pre-session questionnaire together by FaceTime or Zoom so we can customize your film and get better acquainted.
While preparations help me to know we're on the same page, the time spent in your session is laid-back. Think of it as a space to slow down and reconnect as a family. No heavy-handed direction or posing—just all of you doing what you do naturally, and me, quietly observing. I won't shoot the entire time; instead, I will pick moments to document as I see them.
The first time seeing your film is magical, and I treat the debut like the big deal it deserves to be for you. I hope you'll gather the whole family around the TV and premiere it together. Expect tears, laughter, and wonder as you see and appreciate your life from this moving perspective. Once you've viewed your film, you'll receive a link to your private gallery and credit to spend in the well-curated store to print photos and albums and share your film.

Family films are for every season of life — and for new and expectant parents especially, there is no season more worth preserving than this one. They are perfect for families who value presence over perfection and are willing to let their hearts open wide. Another good indicator of a good fit is that your mobile phone is already full of videos you take of your own family.
I welcome and celebrate all genders, sexual orientations, cultures, ages, and sizes. We are not a good fit if this makes you uncomfortable.
Who are family films for?

Editing video is more time-intensive than editing photos. A Year in the Life film alone takes 60-80 hours to craft. It includes weaving together footage from three sessions with your own phone footage from the year, all set to a licensed music soundtrack. The investment reflects that care. And here's what families consistently tell me: the value of their film only grows with time. Every year you watch it, it means a little more.
WHY DO FILMS COST MORE THAN PHOTOS?
← BACK
Yes, definitely! Each film session comes with ~20 photos, available in an online gallery 2-3 weeks after each session. These photos are taken while filming video and are typically more candid and less posed.
ARE PHOTOS INCLUDED IN THE FAMILY SESSION?
← BACK
The honest answer? Before baby arrives. Once they're here, you won't have the bandwidth to think about booking anything — and that's completely normal. Reaching out during your second trimester gives us time to pencil in a flexible date and adjust as your due date approaches.
That said, if you're already postpartum and just coming up for air, you haven't missed it. Newborn sessions happen up to three months after birth, and the Year in the Life can begin at any point in that first year. Whenever you find this page, it's the right time.
When should I book if I'm expecting?

Usually (but not always) there is one partner who is more reserved about the experience. My first suggestion is to get them involved. Show them other films I have made, have them on phone calls when we talk. Make sure they know what to expect. If that is hard to do because of busy schedules, know that they will warm up the day of. Once we get started filming, most people realize how easy it is and there are never any issues. So many times now, I've heard from the reluctant partner that they had "way more fun" than they anticipated.
HOW DO I GET MY FAMILY ON BOARD?
← BACK
Yes — and it's one of my favorite things to do. A newborn film captures what photos simply can't: the sounds, the movement, the realness of those early weeks that memory alone can't hold. You can start with a single Newborn & Milestone Film as a gentle introduction, or go all in with a Year in the Life film that documents your baby's entire first year. Not sure which is right for you? That's exactly what our first phone call is for.
Do you film newborn sessions?
← BACK
I check in with my families a week before the session to discuss details and answer any questions. In case of illness, a two-day notice is appreciated and I'll do my best to accommodate your rescheduling needs. I'd ask for the same consideration if I or a member of my family falls ill. For outdoor sessions, weather is always a factor. If conditions look questionable, I'll be in close contact the days before and on the morning of the session.
WHAT if we need to reschedule?
← BACK
I'm looking to capture meaningful footage of you — the full range of emotions that make life real. Sessions are activity-based, but an activity doesn't need to be extravagant. It will usually happen at your home or a place that's meaningful to your family. The best things to capture are the things you already do together. That's where the real magic lives.
WHAT SHOULD WE BE DOING FOR OUR SESSION?
← BACK
It starts with a phone call. It is important to me that you are comfortable and understand the process. I'll answer all your questions and go over the details. Once you're ready to move forward, I'll send over the contract and set up automatic monthly payments to secure your package.
HOW DO I SIGN UP?

After nearly a decade of filming families, I've learned your kids don't care that you haven't lost the baby weight. You deserve to be seen for the incredible parent that you are. The most common thing I hear from clients is that they want to book a session to remember their kids in this stage of life. And despite not feeling their best, they know how important it is to document this time. Not just for them, but for their children. I know how to create space for you to feel comfortable, effortless, and beautiful, just as you are.
I'M NERVOUS ABOUT HOW I WILL LOOK
← BACK
I have a pre-teen who is quite strong-willed and dislikes being in photos, so I totally get this one. I've wanted to push off photos because we were in a "hard season". I think one of my superpowers is finding the beauty in the struggle. You can trust me to do this. I'll follow your child's lead and if they melt down, I'll find the sweet moments after. My sessions are judgment-free zones. I get it and have been there.
WHAT IF MY CHILDREN AREN'T COOPERATIVE?

The Newborn & Milestone Film is an intimate portrait of one person in one season — perfect for a new baby, a graduation, or any milestone big or small. It's a focused 2-hour session that results in a 2-3 minute film. The Day in the Life is the fuller family experience — up to 4 hours documenting your whole family's real everyday rhythms, resulting in a 3-5 minute film. Think of it this way: the Newborn & Milestone Film zooms in on one person, while the Day in the Life captures the whole beautiful picture.
