There’s a lot to be said of a slow, quiet morning in this fast-paced world we live in. Like it or not, early mornings are just about the only time families are most connected. It’s a routine and sacred space to reconnect and deviate from all of life’s obligations. It’s a moment to curl up and cuddle. Dreams may be revisited. Cold feet and knobby elbows search for warm crevices. Wrestling moves are tried and tested.
It’s no wonder that parents want to hold onto these memories, snug as a bug.
And gosh, this recent family film echoes these sentiments—along with the boys’ realization that I was filming first thing in the morning. Other moments that were an integral part of this family’s fold were the push and pull of siblings, wiggly teeth, goofy walks, their draw to music, and, of course, we can’t forget about the first baby of the family, their dog-whose always quietly observing.
Thank you, I-W Family, for sharing this tender space. It means the world. May this film serve as a time capsule for you to revisit anytime you like.
