It’s hard to believe that our summer has officially ended with my daughter’s first day of MIDDLE SCHOOL. One day, I’m on a boat getting emotional while watching spinner dolphins leap out of the ocean (btw-I now have a deeper understanding of why people get dolphin tattoos). The next minute, I’m explaining to my daughter how to use a combination lock for her locker in MIDDLE SCHOOL.
I’m convinced there is a warp in the space-time continuum.
Case in point: Trapper Keepers in the back-to-school aisle at Target.
But before I get sucked into the vortex of fall, I wanna reminisce about the season of family, rest, adventure, and play. Here are some of my favorite moments (as taken by whatever camera I had on hand). That would include: kicking off the season with my in-laws in Kauai, Elsa’s 11th birthday, our 23rd wedding anniversary (!!!), puppy love, camping with dear friends at Samuel P Taylor SP, and reuniting with my dad for the first time since the pandemic.
Not pictured: boba, working on fulfilling projects, chaperoning Elsa to all the summer camps, the worrying about COVID foiling our plans, and all the mental gymnastics surrounding it.
